Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 8-29-11

For the week of 8-29-11:

5. chicken 'n' grits- for a few weeks my coworkers have been telling me of a chicken and waffles place that opened up. And this week I went and took some food to go. I got the chicken and grits combo and it was good but a little cold by the time I got home. I think it'll be better if I ate there.

4. Scott pilgrim vol. 5&6- the last two volumes of a series that Mel & I enjoyed throughout. And while the ending wasn't that great the series as a whole was fantastic.

3. wolverine # 14 - the end of the "wolverine's revenge " story arc , the culmination of a 2 year story I've been reading. Simply fantastic ( the whole story arc as well as this issue) and one that I recommend any fan of wolverine reading. 

On any other week that might've been # 1 but I went to a pair of awesome Giants games this weekend...

2. star wars day@ the giants game with Ashley & Melanie - when I first heard the announcement for "star wars day" I wanted to go. Bad. Thankfully I got tix for us early. Later the found out the giveaway was a statue of Brian Wilson/ Han solo frozen in carbonite!!! People were dressed in costume and after the game ( sadly it was a loss to Arizona. A win the giants needed bad) they showed The Empire Strikes Back ( my fab star wars film) on the giant screen. It was a fun day.

1. free giants game on Friday- thanks to Melanie's dad we lucked into club level seats for the giants/dbags game on friday. The seats were awesome !! I'd never been to the club level and they have a ton of cool stuff there. Different food, roomy seats, good people. The giants played fantastic and managed to get an important win ... Carlos Beltran goes 4-4 with a hr and Cody f'n Ross gets a hr and makes one of the best catches I've seen all year !! after the game we walked around the club level and checked out all the memorabilia they had there. It was really cool to see all the players baseball cards, bobbleheads and actually touch a Barry bonds game bat. A fantastic night with the love of my life.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week.. 8-22-11

For the weekly 8-22-11:


Hm: having a fun time bowling with my coworkers.

5.  barney's version- rented this movie with Paul giamatti as Barney, a cigar chomping, booze guzzling tv producer from Toronto. I didn't expect much but did want to see this movie after watching the trailer. And I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. 7.5/10.

4. mango vodka/7up + mrs. Doubtfire = crazy awesome !! A tasty mix that left me more than a little buzzed.

3.  pleasant hill free book giveaway- went back to the book giveaway for seconds. For serious, the free book giveaway is an event  melly & I have been looking forward to all year. Went and got a ton of cool books and they were all free. Even found some comics . Including a hardback edition of a batman story that was prob at least $50 when it was new.

2.  giants game with Mel - any day @ the ballpark with my love is fantastic. And this was no different. With the season coming to a close soon it's days/nights @ the ballpark with Melanie that I'm going to miss until next season.

1. Sunday with the family - seeing kiara- went to my nephew's 8th bd party this week and had fun. At the party I got to see my niece kiara who I hadn't seen in almost 2 years. I was amazed how tall she was ( almost the same height as me ?!?) and grown up she was. It was great to see both of them ( missed those kids) and everyone else. Food was good too.

Tom's top 5 awesome things this week...8-15-11

For the week of 8-15-11:

5. tosh.0- for months people've been telling me to watch this show. This show. This week I finally did. And it was funny as hell. 

4.  thundervalley casino with mom & melanie on Tuesday- as part of her bd gift Melanie and I took my mom to thundervalley casino. She did good on the slots, Mel and I ... Not so much. Haha. The Buffet we had for lunch was great though.

3.  Scott pilgrim vol. 3- another good volume in a series I'm enjoying alot.

2. free book giveaway- the pleasant hill free book giveaway is back and Mel, Ashley and I went to check it out. Got a few cool things.

1. My wed. Off with Melanie - had a whole day off with my love in which we simply took it easy. Nice relaxing day.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 8-8-11

For the week of 8-8-11:

5. the  instagram app- thanks to melanie i downloaded this cool new app for pics and I've been having lots of fun with it

4.  getting a replacement iPhone- my phone was losing battery power like a motherfucker and I took it to the apple store to get it fixed and, cause of my warranty, I got me a (kinda) new phone. 

3.  "30 minutes or less"- went to see this movie with Aziz Ansari this week with Melanie. It was a funny matinee that I enjoyed. 7/10.


2.  celebrating my moms 65th bd with uncle Bobby there- got out of work early and surprised my mom by driving into the city and having dinner & cake with my mom on her birthday. Also there were  uncle Bobby and Melanie. It was a nice dinner.

1. giants game on wed with Melanie, mom , Frannie & Ashley - though the giants didn't get the win, it was a nice ( hot) day for baseball with my family.

Tom's 100th blog !?!?!!!

Wow, one hundred fucking blogs. Kinda cool. And though I don't know who, if anyone, is reading this it has been fun writing it (most weeks). Thanks to anyone who's checked out this blog.
I'll keep writing, I assume you (whomever) will keep reading.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week...8-1-11

For the week of 8-1-11

5.  Costco samples - This week I was stuck at Costco for 3 hrs while they gave me new tires ( thank you mom !!) and while there I helped myself to samples of steak, meatball sandwich , water, chocolate milk, mini tacos , pasta and all kinds of other good stuff. It was, no lie, the greatest day of Costco sampling I've ever seen !!

4. the new Winnie the pooh movie - I got this movie on bootleg and it was of fantastic quality. A fun movie that i expected to like but, in reality, one that I loved !! A funny movie with characters that I've loved since I was a kid. 8/10.

3.  Mels dad's birthday- in which there was BBQ ( lots of it !!), corn, potato salad, red velvet cake and, just before we left, some fantastic banana bread made by Celine .

2. Going to giants game with Melanie on tues - anytime at the ballpark with my Melly is a great time. Sadly, our giants lost but we shall be there to cheer them another day.

1. After a busy Sunday driving all around the bay, simply getting to sit on the sofa and relax while watching I love Lucy with Melanie.
