For the week of 9-26-11:
5. Eating tasty dried squid that I got at the asain supermarket- you think it would be gross but it wasn't. Hella good in fact.
4. the new & repeats of "it's always sunny in Philadelphia "- RUM HAM !! One of my fav shows has been really funny this season and, because it's now in syndication , I'm catching repeats of episodes I haven't seen left & right. Hella funny.
-wolverine # 16- in which Wolverine retreats to the wilderness, giving up on being a hero and tries to forget the ordeal he's been through ( seriously, read the whole run of this new wolverine... It's fantastic.) only to find you can't escape being a hero& protector...you can't change who you are. I haven't missed an issue in 2 years of this comic, I'll say it's my fav comic on the market right now. This issue just kept the streak if great wolverines going. Looking forward to next month...
2. "Moneyball"- on a random day off, with no agenda, Melanie suggest we go to a movie. " how bout Moneyball" she said. The movie about the Oakland A's & their GM Billy beane was one I was on the fence about seeing but, in the end, was one I really enjoyed more than I thought I would. Even had me rooting for the A's ( who I like... LOVE the giants ) .
1. Monday off ( slept in, made chorizo con huevo & potatos, had buckhorn for lunch, hung out with melly and went to see "real steel" for free) - the movie was not that good and the over serious process to get in was bullshit ( metal detectors, bag search... For a crappy movie, really ?!?) but spending the day with my baby was great .

Toms Top 5 Awesome Things This Week...9-19-11
For the week of 9-19-11:
Hm: "the new girl"- watched the series premier of this show and found it really funny. Looking forward to seeing more.
Hm: the variety pack of old man candy I got for $4 at walmart- strawberry, butterscotch , coconut, cherry... All manner of hard candy !! Through some wurthurs originals I had into the mix !!
5. diet ORANGE coke- at wingstop they have a fancy new soda machine that give you tons of soda options and combos. For the first time ever I had a orange diet coke... It was tasty.
4 The picadillo my mom made on wed.- always awesome

2. "smile" by Raina Telgemeier- a graphic novel Melly got that I ended up reading and really liking. Set in SF in the late 80's/ early 90's I even knew some of the places that were drawn in the book.
1. A tour of SF on a day off... Tom & Mel G style...- in which we visited several places from the movies mrs. Doubtfire & the princess diaries as well as the Full House house... We ate slices of pizza in north beach and had a great time taking a unique tour of the city.

Tom's Top 6 Awesome Things This Wek...9-12-11
Hella behind, but here it is:
For the week of 9-12-11:
-5. seafood city ( making fried lumpia)- went to an Asian supermarket called seafood city with Mel this week. It had a ton of cool stuff, great candy and had lumpia you could fry up at home. We hot done chicken & shrimp lumpia that I made and it was delicious.
4. watching the end of the giants game with Mel's mom- while waiting for Melanie & Ashley I was watching the giants game, a game they needed to win to stay in the playoff hunt, and when Melanies mom showed up we watched the 8th & 9th inning together . It was fun listening to her say " they are gonna lose !!" everytime a strike was thrown. And, in the end, the giants beat the Rockies.
3. seeing The Lion King in the theatre- the first time I watched the Lion King it was on VHS with my mom . So this week was my first time seeing the movie on the big screen. And it was still a fantastic movie.
2. meatloaf & mashers made by mom on Thursday- I hadn't eaten all day ( damn you 4 hr shifts !!) and the meatloaf & mashers my mom made for her, my uncle Bobby, Mel & myself was fantastic !!
1. Giants win 3-1 vs SD in the last game melly & I had tickets to this season - we got to go to more than a few games this year and being at the the ballpark with my love was always a great time. Its going to be rough not getting to go to games till next year but we had some great times at the ball park this year !!

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week...9-5-11
For the week of 9-5-11:
Hm: the zig zag nacho thing at the sushi place- went to one of our fav sushi places where this was the special of the day. A mix of crab meat, shrimp and other seafood on fried light tasting chips.., I took a chance on this and wasn't let down. It was fantastic !!
5. Saturday- had a good Saturday. We went to a going away dinner for Melly's cousin Michaela. The food was fantastic and the company was equal to the food. Later that night I walked down the block and had a few drinks at spoontonic with kc & Emilio. It was fun and Melly was nice enough to pick us up... Shes so sweet.
4." our idiot brother" & " cars 2"- on my day off we decided to check out a movie. And since we were wicked early we walked into Cars 2 about 20 min. into it. And while I didn't really like the first Cars, I ended up really liking this one. 7.5/10. "Our Idiot Brother" was a fun film that I found funny. 7.5/10. It was a fun time at the movies with my baby.
3. chicken & waffles with melly- I'd tried this chicken & waffles place before and it was good. This week Mel & I went to eat brunch there. And it was great. The dish I had ( actual chicken & waffles) was great. The lady who served our food sang happy birthday to the people a few tables away and she sang very well. I feel confident to say that We shall be back.
2. doing nothing on Sunday but laying around & reading- had a plan to surround myself with snacks, things to read & the always awesome Mel to hang out with me and it was a great day.
1. free giants/ dodgers game- on Friday I got a text from kierstin asking if Mel & I would like some giants tickets to tonight's game. I said Hells Yes !! And a few hrs later ( thank you nika for letting me get off work early !!) we were sitting 18 rows from 1st base to see the giants vs dodgers... Clayton Kershaw vs timmy lincecum !! Sadly, the giants lost 2-1 but it was a fun time and a great night at the ballpark . Going to a baseball game with Mel, for free, with great seats , what could be better. Answer: nothing.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 8-29-11
For the week of 8-29-11:
5. chicken 'n' grits- for a few weeks my coworkers have been telling me of a chicken and waffles place that opened up. And this week I went and took some food to go. I got the chicken and grits combo and it was good but a little cold by the time I got home. I think it'll be better if I ate there.
4. Scott pilgrim vol. 5&6- the last two volumes of a series that Mel & I enjoyed throughout. And while the ending wasn't that great the series as a whole was fantastic.
3. wolverine # 14 - the end of the "wolverine's revenge " story arc , the culmination of a 2 year story I've been reading. Simply fantastic ( the whole story arc as well as this issue) and one that I recommend any fan of wolverine reading.
On any other week that might've been # 1 but I went to a pair of awesome Giants games this weekend...
2. star wars day@ the giants game with Ashley & Melanie - when I first heard the announcement for "star wars day" I wanted to go. Bad. Thankfully I got tix for us early. Later the found out the giveaway was a statue of Brian Wilson/ Han solo frozen in carbonite!!! People were dressed in costume and after the game ( sadly it was a loss to Arizona. A win the giants needed bad) they showed The Empire Strikes Back ( my fab star wars film) on the giant screen. It was a fun day.
1. free giants game on Friday- thanks to Melanie's dad we lucked into club level seats for the giants/dbags game on friday. The seats were awesome !! I'd never been to the club level and they have a ton of cool stuff there. Different food, roomy seats, good people. The giants played fantastic and managed to get an important win ... Carlos Beltran goes 4-4 with a hr and Cody f'n Ross gets a hr and makes one of the best catches I've seen all year !! after the game we walked around the club level and checked out all the memorabilia they had there. It was really cool to see all the players baseball cards, bobbleheads and actually touch a Barry bonds game bat. A fantastic night with the love of my life.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week.. 8-22-11
For the weekly 8-22-11:
Hm: having a fun time bowling with my coworkers.
5. barney's version- rented this movie with Paul giamatti as Barney, a cigar chomping, booze guzzling tv producer from Toronto. I didn't expect much but did want to see this movie after watching the trailer. And I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. 7.5/10.
4. mango vodka/7up + mrs. Doubtfire = crazy awesome !! A tasty mix that left me more than a little buzzed.
3. pleasant hill free book giveaway- went back to the book giveaway for seconds. For serious, the free book giveaway is an event melly & I have been looking forward to all year. Went and got a ton of cool books and they were all free. Even found some comics . Including a hardback edition of a batman story that was prob at least $50 when it was new.
2. giants game with Mel - any day @ the ballpark with my love is fantastic. And this was no different. With the season coming to a close soon it's days/nights @ the ballpark with Melanie that I'm going to miss until next season.
1. Sunday with the family - seeing kiara- went to my nephew's 8th bd party this week and had fun. At the party I got to see my niece kiara who I hadn't seen in almost 2 years. I was amazed how tall she was ( almost the same height as me ?!?) and grown up she was. It was great to see both of them ( missed those kids) and everyone else. Food was good too.

Tom's top 5 awesome things this week...8-15-11
For the week of 8-15-11:
5. tosh.0- for months people've been telling me to watch this show. This show. This week I finally did. And it was funny as hell.
4. thundervalley casino with mom & melanie on Tuesday- as part of her bd gift Melanie and I took my mom to thundervalley casino. She did good on the slots, Mel and I ... Not so much. Haha. The Buffet we had for lunch was great though.
3. Scott pilgrim vol. 3- another good volume in a series I'm enjoying alot.
2. free book giveaway- the pleasant hill free book giveaway is back and Mel, Ashley and I went to check it out. Got a few cool things.
1. My wed. Off with Melanie - had a whole day off with my love in which we simply took it easy. Nice relaxing day.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 8-8-11
For the week of 8-8-11:
5. the instagram app- thanks to melanie i downloaded this cool new app for pics and I've been having lots of fun with it
4. getting a replacement iPhone- my phone was losing battery power like a motherfucker and I took it to the apple store to get it fixed and, cause of my warranty, I got me a (kinda) new phone.
3. "30 minutes or less"- went to see this movie with Aziz Ansari this week with Melanie. It was a funny matinee that I enjoyed. 7/10.
2. celebrating my moms 65th bd with uncle Bobby there- got out of work early and surprised my mom by driving into the city and having dinner & cake with my mom on her birthday. Also there were uncle Bobby and Melanie. It was a nice dinner.
1. giants game on wed with Melanie, mom , Frannie & Ashley - though the giants didn't get the win, it was a nice ( hot) day for baseball with my family.
So... That's it.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week...8-1-11
For the week of 8-1-11
5. Costco samples - This week I was stuck at Costco for 3 hrs while they gave me new tires ( thank you mom !!) and while there I helped myself to samples of steak, meatball sandwich , water, chocolate milk, mini tacos , pasta and all kinds of other good stuff. It was, no lie, the greatest day of Costco sampling I've ever seen !!
4. the new Winnie the pooh movie - I got this movie on bootleg and it was of fantastic quality. A fun movie that i expected to like but, in reality, one that I loved !! A funny movie with characters that I've loved since I was a kid. 8/10.
3. Mels dad's birthday- in which there was BBQ ( lots of it !!), corn, potato salad, red velvet cake and, just before we left, some fantastic banana bread made by Celine .
2. Going to giants game with Melanie on tues - anytime at the ballpark with my Melly is a great time. Sadly, our giants lost but we shall be there to cheer them another day.
1. After a busy Sunday driving all around the bay, simply getting to sit on the sofa and relax while watching I love Lucy with Melanie.
So, that's it.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 7-25-11
For the week of 7-25-11:
5. Scott pilgrim volume 1&2- went to a going out of business sale at the Borders in stonestown. And because I liked the movie I picked up the first volume of the Scott pilgrim series and liked it. Alot. So much so that by weeks end I bought volume 2. Fun, funny reads that I really enjoyed. Looking forward to reading volume 3.
4. X-men : schism #'s 1&2- this is the new big Xmen event. Issue one was really good and I enjoyed it, issue two was just okay. Still, I'm interested in seeing where this story goes...
3. Melly's dinner on Monday - steak, homemade mashers & broccoli ... what a meal !! My Melly made dinner on Monday and everything tasted fantastic
2. Drinking sodas and watching old sitcoms with my uncle Bobby on a Sunday afternoon - and for a few hours there, it was just like old times.
1. My day off Friday in Santa Cruz with Melanie - slept in and then drove to santa Cruz with my Melly. Awhile back I was watching the travel channel and they said the originator of chocolate covered bacon was right there on the beach boardwalk. And knowing this I HAD to try some. It was good but I wouldn't have it all the time. We ended up hanging out on the beach for a few hrs ( where I read Scott pilgrim vol. 2). I almost lost a shoe in the water and had to fight the current for it. Haha. We rode the bumper cars. I had cheese fries. Later, we had a nice dinner. On the drive home the sky was shades of blue, purple and black... All in all, this is what days off were meant for. Such a great day with my love.

4. X-men : schism #'s 1&2- this is the new big Xmen event. Issue one was really good and I enjoyed it, issue two was just okay. Still, I'm interested in seeing where this story goes...
3. Melly's dinner on Monday - steak, homemade mashers & broccoli ... what a meal !! My Melly made dinner on Monday and everything tasted fantastic
2. Drinking sodas and watching old sitcoms with my uncle Bobby on a Sunday afternoon - and for a few hours there, it was just like old times.
1. My day off Friday in Santa Cruz with Melanie - slept in and then drove to santa Cruz with my Melly. Awhile back I was watching the travel channel and they said the originator of chocolate covered bacon was right there on the beach boardwalk. And knowing this I HAD to try some. It was good but I wouldn't have it all the time. We ended up hanging out on the beach for a few hrs ( where I read Scott pilgrim vol. 2). I almost lost a shoe in the water and had to fight the current for it. Haha. We rode the bumper cars. I had cheese fries. Later, we had a nice dinner. On the drive home the sky was shades of blue, purple and black... All in all, this is what days off were meant for. Such a great day with my love.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week...7-17-11
For the week of 7-18-11:
-5. SF creamery with Melly- after a failed attempt to see Captain America, Mel suggested we go to the sf creamery for ice cream. The sundae I ended up getting was awesome ( almond & peanut butter/ chocolate with fudge).
4. "paris when it sizzles" - I'd never seen any Audrey Hepburn movies until I'd met Melanie . And in the 3 Years we've been together I've seen a few of her movies ( breakfast at tiffanys, funny face, sabrina, etc). I've enjoyed some more than others but I really enjoyed this one. A fun funny movie. 7.5/10.
3. Rewatching Harry potter & the deathly hallows pt.2 - the 2nd of many , no doubt, viewings. This time my mom was with Mel and I . On 2nd viewing I still thought it was a great movie.
2. MLB 2k11 for xbox 360- gamefly brought me this warlock awhile ago and I didn't have a chance to play it till this week. And it. Was. (fucking) awesome !! One of the best baseball video games ( shout out baseball stars for the NES and Ken Griffey jr baseball for Snes ) I've ever played !! Mel and I have been playing this game all week. Best of all is the living rosters in which you can play games that were happening TODAY. Frggin sweet !!
As fun as that game is, it doesn't beat the real thing...
1. Melly's first giants vs. dodgers game - there is nothing like the excitement of a giants dodgers game. As the chants of BEAT LA BEAT LA echo you can't help but be proud to be a lifelong giants fan. This was the first sf/la game for my Melly and I was so excited to take her. It was hot, we sat next to a bunch of annoying people who seemed more interested in taking pics of themselves than being at the game and sadly we did not beat la but it was a GREAT time. Any day at the ballpark always is.

Tom's top 5 awesome things this week 7-11-11
For the week of 7-11-11:
5. the spinish, ground beef and rice dinner Melanie made - a Melanie specialty that is always a crowd favorite ( the "crowd" being me). I enjoyed the hell out of this dinner
4. Monday off with Melly -had a Monday off this week and Mel and I decided to stay in walnut creek and catch a movie. I started the morning off with steak sandwich @ plaza cafe which was really good. They usually give you a big steak and a little roll, I like this cause it feels like your getting extra. It's not fancy, but hella tasty. After going back and forth on what to do with our day, Mel said we should go to the movies. We went to see transformers in 3D, the 3d was cool but everytime the robots werent on the screen beating the crap outta eachother it was lame. Since the movie ticket was so expensive, we ( i ) decided to sneak into "horrible bosses". It was a funny movie. both movies I'll give a 7.5/10.
3. Watching a double header A's game sat with Zac, kc & Melanie - to be honest I don't remember much of the games, I do remember having a kick ass time drinking beers with some awesome people !!
2. MC Hammer bobblehead day- went with my family to another A's game and got sweet mc hammer Bobbleheads. A fun game and great company.
1. Harry potter & the deathly hallows with Mel, Ashley & Melanies mom- and the cinematic adventures of Harry James Potter, triwizard champion, lover of Ginger-haired woman and the only true master of the deathly hallows, came to an end. An exciting movie that I really enjoyed. 9/10. For the series 10/10.

Toms Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 7-4-11
For the week of 7-4-11:
5. "zookeeper"- went to see this movie with my mom & Melanie . When I first watched the trailer, I thought it looked stupid but the more I watched it, the more I found myself laughing whenever the commercial came on. So I finally quit lying to myself and said " I wanna see it" outloud. And we went. And it was a fun movie that made me laugh a few times. 7/10.
4. Princess Aniyah's princess party- Melanies cousin had a birthday party on Saturday and it was alot of fun. They had a bouncy house ( sadly, I didn't get in), facepainting ( that Melanie did. She looked adorable !!), a hot dog machiene , a popcorn machiene and , best of all, a nacho dispenser. The music played at the party was fantastic ( 90's hip hop, 2Pac !!) and I had fun hanging out with Mels family.
-3. farmers market with Melly on Thursday - in which we had lumpia, chicken in a stick, listened to a decent cover band playing in the park, got 3 awesome peaches for $1 and, best of all, home made Popsicles ( I had Mexican hot chocolate, Mel had chipotle mango) . Everything was great, we got a fantastic parking spot and had a great evening.
2. BBQ at Melanie's dad's house- celebrated 4th of July at Mels dads house with an awesome BBQ . There was chicken, corn & juicy watermelon. Everything was fantastic tasting. As we ate we watched the giants game on tv and though they dis not win it was cool to see Pablo Sandoval get a splash hit hr.
1. Aziz Ansari does a surprise set @ the punchline SF on Tuesday... And I was there !! - thanks to my friend Zac who read a tweet Aziz put up an hr before, we raced down to the city and just made it by 5 minutes ( !! ) to see Aziz do a 45 minute set. He was trying out new jokes and was real funny.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 6-27-11
For the week of 6-27-11:
5. wolverine # 11- quickly becoming one of my favorite series to read. This story, a part in the "wolverines revenge" story arc, was great. The story is about perspective...while Logan is a superhero, for the families of the thousands of people he's killed, he is a monster who ruins lives. And what would happen if a group of these people spent there lives plotting revenge. A great read.
4. - Thursday - the food at resturante el Salvador/ the Popsicles at the farmers market across the street- great dinner of papusas and, while walking around the farmers market with Melanie, had a blueberry ice Popsicle ( though, honestly, the cucumber lime pop Mel had was better)
3. The Pleasanton county fair with mom, Ashley & Melly - ate a ton of food ( BBQ, oysters, all manner of unhealthy fried treats) and had a great time with my family.
2. A's game on Friday with Melly- the weather was hot, perfect for a ballgame . And since the giants were out of town we decided to check out an A's game. I like the A's ( I love the giants !!) . And the tickets were cheap ( $12 ticket got us a $6 food voucher, free tshirt for Mel/ free foam finger for me. ) later we snuck down to the expensive seats where we were attacked by nats. Hundreds of them. Despite this we had hella fun. Oh and the A's won.
1. My Saturday : on saturday i gotout of work early, it was a hot day so the store was slow. I went to picked up a Harry potter magazine for Melanie. I went home to Melanie and Ashley was over visiting. We went to flying colors comics and I picked up the new issue of Wolverine and some other stuff. We went home and Melanie cooked some awesome garlic chicken&rice. It was still super hot so we went to the San Francisco Creamery to have some floats ( I had a sherbert freeze) and, later, i watched the giants score 15 runs ( even with a 2 1/2 hr rain delay) to stomp the tigers. What a fantastic day !!
So, that's it.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 6-20-11
For the week of 6-20-11:
On any given week any one of these could've been #1. Looking back on it, I had me a kick ass week !!
5. the torta cubano I had on Sunday- and while I've had this before, this combination of beef/ham/cheese/bacon (while not the healthiest thing in the world) was particularly tasty this week.
4. dinner on sat night @ mi pueblo supermarket/ taqueria with Mels mom, Ashley & Melanie - you wouldn't think a supermarket that has a restaurant in it would have kick ass tacos & seafood... But it friggin DID !! I can't wait to go back !!
3. "Regular Show" - this week Melly played a show for me from cartoon network called Regular Show ( no bullspit, that's the name) and it was hilarious !! Full of funny catch phrases ( and we all know I'm all about a good catch phrase), crazy senarios and off the wall characters ( a talking gumball
Machine named Benson... Why not !?!?). For the rest of the week Mel and I have been watching episodes on YouTube .
2. Going to the game on friday with melanie and watching the giants beat the Indians 4-3 - a great interleauge game with the giants coming from behind to win the game !!
1. My fantastic Monday - day off on monday. And because of this melanie, ashley & I went to the city and, thanks to a notice on the knbr facebook page, we ended up meeting giants CF andres Torres. Got to shake his hand and get an autographed baseball. Because we were by tge embarcadero we decided to pick up the always tasty burgers served at reds java house. We ate our burgers at my moms house. It was great spending time with mom, Ashley & Melanie aka some of my most favorite people in the world !! We drove back to walnut creek and said goodbye to ashley who drove home. While looking around Ondemand for something to watch we saw a section called nickelodeon Rewind and, SCORE !!, we saw they had episodes of "Doug". This was awesome news as, growing up, I always really liked this show. Doug used to write in his journal (rare for a boy cartoon i would say) and, while I didn't have a journal, I liked to write down stuff too. It was so much fun rewatching Doug, the show still held up. My Monday was a fantastic one.
So... That's it.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 6-13-11
For the week of 6-13-11:
5. olive garden with my mom & Melanie- all you can eat soup & breadsticks. Yes please.
4. the California dreamin' sandwich at Safeway I had Thursday - it's been awhile since I've had this sandwich . But, , this week, while working a long day, I decided to get it for lunch. It was tasty as hell.
3. Emilio's surprise birthday party @ spoontonic - mel & I celebrated our friend Emilio's birthday with a few drinks and a few laughs.
2. After a long day at work Friday, having a good dinner and some beers at Mellos with Melanie - went out to eat with my Melly and had some great food. The giants/a's game was on and we drank some beers. It was a great night with my most favorite person in the world.
1. Fathers day with Mels family - Fathers day, for me, for obvious reasons ( dont feel like rehashing now) has always been a weird one. This year, in fact, was the first one in my life I did not spend with either my dad or uncle Bobby and my mom.
Fathers day, the first few years without my dad, and these last few with my uncle Bobby not being well, have been not great shall we say. These last few being particularly hard.

HM: skins- Mel and I have been watching the British version of this show ( far better than it's crap US counterpart) on netflix through the xbox. A decent show that is at times funny.
5. playing with puppies- Melanies mom's dog had puppies and this week we went to play with them. It was fun, they are so little and adorable.
4. wolverine #10- the latest Logan solo series is becoming one of my favorite comics to read. I have every issue thus far. This issue, revealing the back story on the group set out to finish wolverine once and for all, was a good read.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Thibgs This Week 5-30-11
Top 5:
For the week of 5-30-11:
5. in-n-out burgers for dinner- always tasty. I got a double double with animal style fries.
4. the heartbreaker ( French movie) - Melanie has been telling me about this movie for a week or two now and, this week, finally managed to sit me down long enough to watch on netflix instant. I thought I would be distracted by the subtitles but I wasn't. A funny movie that I really enjoyed. 7/10.
3. "Thor"- I'm not a big fan of Thor . And by not a big fan i really mean , not a fan at all. I was in fact not planning on seeing this movie until it came to DVD. Then, I found someone selling it on bootleg for $2 and I decided to check it out. A good quality bootleg ( though with Spanish subtitles on the bottom), I'll be honest and say I enjoyed this movie WAAAY more than I thought I would. Decent action and a good job by the guys who played Thor & his brother Loki . I'll give it a 7.5/10
2. watching Ducktales with Ashley & Melanie - growing up I watched the Disney afternoon almost everyday after school. And of all the shows on there my favorite was Ducktales ( Talespin being the other favorite). A long time ago, I found Ducktales on DVD used at amoeba. And while looking for something to watch saturday night, Ashley, Melanie & I decided to check out some of the adventures of Scrooge Mcduck & co. It was a great time !!
1. X-men first class - this movie, the opposite of Thor , we've been looking forward to seeing since it was announced more than a year ago. I was excited to see the mutants when they were young and then, when I heard they were focusing on prof. X & magneto ( magneto was supposed to get his own Xmen origins movie but they bailed on it) I was a bit skeptical. Then when I found out cyclops, iceman & co wouldn't even be in the movie, I doubted even going. The trailers looked cool so Melanie, Ashley & I decided to go. And I thought it was great. Although I think I should watch again before "officially" saying this, I'm going to "unofficially " say this was the best Xmen movie I've seen yet ( knocking X2 from the top spot). Full of action, inside comic geek nods & winks and some pretty good performances ( the guys who played Charles & Magneto stood out). I'm going to give this movie a 8.5/10. Looking forward to the DVD ( or, maybe, bootleg first).

For the week of 5-30-11:
5. in-n-out burgers for dinner- always tasty. I got a double double with animal style fries.
4. the heartbreaker ( French movie) - Melanie has been telling me about this movie for a week or two now and, this week, finally managed to sit me down long enough to watch on netflix instant. I thought I would be distracted by the subtitles but I wasn't. A funny movie that I really enjoyed. 7/10.
3. "Thor"- I'm not a big fan of Thor . And by not a big fan i really mean , not a fan at all. I was in fact not planning on seeing this movie until it came to DVD. Then, I found someone selling it on bootleg for $2 and I decided to check it out. A good quality bootleg ( though with Spanish subtitles on the bottom), I'll be honest and say I enjoyed this movie WAAAY more than I thought I would. Decent action and a good job by the guys who played Thor & his brother Loki . I'll give it a 7.5/10
2. watching Ducktales with Ashley & Melanie - growing up I watched the Disney afternoon almost everyday after school. And of all the shows on there my favorite was Ducktales ( Talespin being the other favorite). A long time ago, I found Ducktales on DVD used at amoeba. And while looking for something to watch saturday night, Ashley, Melanie & I decided to check out some of the adventures of Scrooge Mcduck & co. It was a great time !!
1. X-men first class - this movie, the opposite of Thor , we've been looking forward to seeing since it was announced more than a year ago. I was excited to see the mutants when they were young and then, when I heard they were focusing on prof. X & magneto ( magneto was supposed to get his own Xmen origins movie but they bailed on it) I was a bit skeptical. Then when I found out cyclops, iceman & co wouldn't even be in the movie, I doubted even going. The trailers looked cool so Melanie, Ashley & I decided to go. And I thought it was great. 6-5-11
Haven't written in a few days, so much for this "I'm going to write everyday in June" thingy.
The past few days I haven't had to work and, because of this, I've been having fun. ( Top 5 coming soon). Today is my last day off and we are headed ( back) to the giants game today. Thanks to Melanie & stubhub. Com we are going to see Timmy pitch for only $5 a ticket !! Results !!
I'm looking forward to today and getting to hang out with melanie, Frannie & Ashley .

Slept in. Huge breakfast. Lazy mornin'. Great sandwich for lunch. Tons o' beers and kick ass giants game.

Thursday June 2nd
6-2-11:
Today I have, for some reason, a bit of a cough. I'm not letting it worry me but I don't want to be sick.
Last nights Giants game was crazy, though they won in 11innings, the game was delayed for 10-15 min because a section of the stadium lights went out in St. Louis. I mean, everyone is trying to take down the champs, it would seem even pg&e is trying to throw a roadblock SF's way.
Today is my last work day before a much looked forward to 4 day weekend. On Friday, Melanie & I are going to the giants game and I'm really looking forward to it. Saturday, we were supposed to graduation party, sadly it was rescheduled and now I can't go. Im bummed cause I was looking forward to eating some great food and seeing some cool people. And because of this i dont know what im doing sat. Sunday we are visiting my uncle Bobby . It should be a great weekend and one I've been looking forward to for awhile. Best of all, I get to spend 4 uncut days with my favorite person in the world ( who I hope is feeling better).
In just an hr, I will be work free. I can't wait for four days of fun times and adventures...

An experiment in june....
6-1-11
For this month ( at least), I try to blog everyday. Nothing special, you will still see the Top 5 every week, yet I will try it as an experiment of sorts.
Up today early for work ( as I type this, in fact, I'm there) which is fine because an early start means an early exit ( that's what she said !!). I can't wait for my work day to be over so I can spend the rest of the day having fun with my Melanie .
I have 4 hrs of work to go, I hope they go by fast....

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week...5-23-11
Top 5:
For the week of 5-23-11:
HM: all the awesome food I ate on Sunday - ate a ton of awesome
Mexican food for breakfast and, later, vietnamiese food for dinner.
5. bridesmaids/ the $1 bin at crush comics - went to a matinee with Melanie to see "Bridesmaids" this week. It was a fun movie that had me laughing a few times. 7/10. After the movie, Mel and I drove to Castro valley and went to Crush comics. And while Flying Colors Comics is my favorite, the $1 bins are awesome at Crush. I managed to find some cool stuff. It was a fun day off with the Melanie .
4. the albacore tuna sandwich from The Habit- In all honesty, everything I've tried at the habit thus far, has been fantastic. And this tuna was no exception.
3. Finally, , after starting the series over WAAAY back in November, finishing the Harry Potter series - it took me hella months to finish those 7 books but it was fun re-reading the best series I've ever read . I can't wait for the next movie to come out.
2. The ground beef and spinish over rice Melanie made - always a crowd favorite ( the crowd being just me ). I love when Melanie makes this dish.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things Week...5-16-11

5. quesadilla suiza I had on Sunday - carne asada, cheese, tortilla... Simply awesome...
4. meatball sandwich from Marruccis- I have yet to have a bad thing from this deli... A fantastic sandwich !!
3. watching the giants sweep a 2 game series from the dodgers - beat la !! Beat la !!
2. pirates of the carribean: on strange tides- when I first found they were making a pirates 4, I was a bit skeptical. But, as the trailers came out more and more we decided to check it out. And it was a fun summer movie and, in this awesome gentlemans opinion, the best one since part 1. I'll give it a 7/10.
1. the ponthay Melanie's dad made after Mel bugged him all week - I don't know how to spell it right but, really, it should be spelled
H-E-L-L-A

Toms Top 5 Awesome Things This week 5/9/11
Top 5:
For the week of 5-9-11:
5. bootlegging, the return- fir the first time in a long time, I went to the swap meet and bought some bootleg DVD movies. The quality was good on some, DVD quality on others.
4. universal studios on Monday - with our last day in socal, we decided to head back to universal studios ( the tickets we got were get 2 days for tge price of one !!) and ride a few more rides ( simpsons ride !! Jurassic park !! King kong 3d !!). We went to the special effects show... And I was picked to be in the show !! I wore a safari hat and, infront of a green screen, ran from a friggin dinosaur. And now I can say I, Tom, have made a movie ( less than a min long but whatever) for universal.
3. " Fast Five" - I'm not going to dance around it, I like the fast & the furious movies ( part one & two are the best ) and this, honestly, was pretty decent. Though a lack of actual racing, and the dialogue was bad/funny, it still managed to entertain me as I munched popcorn. 7/10.
2. Eating at Pink's hot dogs/ Going to golden apple comics- while in LA we decided to check out a place we've seen on food network ( guy fietti went there, I think...?), the line was long but we eventually got our food . I kid you not, whomever is reading, it was the BEST F'N hot dog ( polish sausage if we are being specific) I've EVER had !! It was a polish with Swiss cheese and pastrami !! The next time I'm back down there I'm going back for another.
Itwas around the year 2000 I think that I read in a Wizard magazine that, when in hollywood,check out Golden Apple Comics...its where the celebs get there comics !!and, while on this trip, I decided to check it out. Bonus,it was down the street from Pinks hot dogs !! A cool place that, while not as bad ass as Flying Colors Comics,

What's been awesome about your week?was still fun to visit. I got some cool stuff and we had fun checking it out. As I walked out, thanks to facebook and there "check in", I ran into someone I knew from high school ( What's up Evan !!). It was cool seeing someone I knew, so far from home.
1. Tommy & Melly's 3rd Anniversary -
On May 10th I celebrated 3 years with my Melanie . And for 3 years she has made me smile, the first person I see in the morning, the last one I see at night, because of her my apt became a home. She's my best friend and the best part of my day
Our anniversary vacation,from the giants game we went to kick off our trip (check out last weeks Top 5, Mel got my friggin name on the Giants jumbotron !!) to the entire trip to LA, it was fantastic and I look forward to many more anniversaries with the one and only love of my life .

5. having dinner with Mels mom and the Ganda girls on wed - celebrating an early mothers day. It was good food and great company.
4. having papusas and menudo on Friday afternoon with my mom and Melanie
3. Watching the Giants come from behind to beat Rockies 4-3 on Willie mays 80th bd - what a great game!! Had some beers, ate a burger, hung out with my Melly and had a fantastic time ! We got replica statues of Willie ( which I accidentally broke the arm on mine already). Great start to our anniversary vacation.
2. road trip to la with my Melly - in which we heard great tunes, had plenty of snacks, ate at Anderson's pea soup and made great time to Burbank .

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 4-18-11

For the week of 4-18-11
5. the awesome random sunflower seed, poppy seed bagel from Safeway I had with butter in my break Thursday - for some reason I woke up wanting a bagel and, growing tired of the bagels at the biz, I went to Safeway and picked up this little gem. With only a bit of butter it turned into and awesome treat on what was a busy day.
4. Fosters home for imaginary friends- Melanie has been talking about this show for a long time now and I'd never seen it till this week. And it was funny. Looking forward to seeing more. And soon.
3. giants game with chris king- though the wrong team won ( atl), it was fun hanging out with dr. King
2. A fantastic thursday night- in which we ate Rocco's pizza, watched baseball on tv, the Jackson 5 played in the backround and i got to spend tine with Mel & Ashley. All this = awesome

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 4-11-11

For the week of 4-11-11
5 getting to watch giants games all week with Melly
4. finishing, finally,Rereading Harry potter & the order of the phoenix - an awesome read that took me quite some time to get through. The next day, I started Rereading book 6.
3. Spoontonic on Saturday night with Melly, KC & Emilio - had some drinks and some laughs with some awesome people. The bar bill wasn't crazy and no hangover the next morning. All good things.
2. Pizza & potter- Friday, after work, I picked up the DVD for Harry Potter & the deathly hallows pt. 1 and Melly picked up a pizza. A tasty combo of pesto, sausage, Ham, pineapple and feta. It was a perfect night, watching and munching, after a long long day at work.
1. six flags discovery kingdom with Melanie & Ashley- thanks to season passes as a gift from Melanie's mom, we made our first trip to six flags this year. This was my first trip since i was 7 yrs old, when it was simply known as marine world Africa USA . We rode a few rides, saw a few cool animals and walked all around. It was a fun and I'm looking forward to going again soon.

5 getting to watch giants games all week with Melly
4. finishing, finally,Rereading Harry potter & the order of the phoenix - an awesome read that took me quite some time to get through. The next day, I started Rereading book 6.
3. Spoontonic on Saturday night with Melly, KC & Emilio - had some drinks and some laughs with some awesome people. The bar bill wasn't crazy and no hangover the next morning. All good things.
2. Pizza & potter- Friday, after work, I picked up the DVD for Harry Potter & the deathly hallows pt. 1 and Melly picked up a pizza. A tasty combo of pesto, sausage, Ham, pineapple and feta. It was a perfect night, watching and munching, after a long long day at work.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 4-6-11
Top 5:
For the week of 4-6-11
5. silent library- I've known about this show for awhile and, this week, Melly sat me down to watch it for the first time ever. And it was hella funny.
4. Eating some damn tasty pescado frito and papusas at some new restaurant near my moms house
3. walking around downtown SF with my Melly on a windy day off
2. Best. Day. Off. In . A. Long. Time. - in which we ate some kick ass sandwiches from a bomb deli, got comics at flying colors, watched the giants win there home opener in a nail biting 12 innings, I watched a good Foo Fighters documentary and, best of all, I got to spend the day off with Melly !!
1. Going to the ballpark and watching a giants game with Melly - in which we snacked on hotdogs & garlic fries , cheered and had a great time at our first ballgame of the season. Sadly, SF lost but it was still a great time !!

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 3-28-11
Top 5:
For the week of 3-28-11
5. lori's bd cakes- between work & wrestlemania ( more on this later) I didn't get to go to any of Lori's bd festivities. Thankfully, Melly brought me cake and it... Was... Awesome...!!
4. Making some awesome BBQ nachos using stuff from trader joes.
3. opening day - baseball is back !! I can't wait to come hone from work, get dinner going and watch the giants kick ass as I play catch up with Melly about our days .
2. new iPhone case- I broke my old iPhone case and, on opening day, I come home to find Mel had gotten me a frggin SWEET new Giants iPhone case .
1. Watching wrestlemania with the boys- since we were kids my friends and I would get together and watch wrestlemania. It's the one ppv I get a year. And while ponch couldnt make it, freddie and rick did show up. Aldo this year Christian, my godson, came to watch. And the kid, 6 yrs old, knew his wrestling. I remember being the same age when I watched my first mania with my dad so it was cool for me to watch it with my nephew. The actual show wasn't as great as the year before but I still had a great time.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome things this week... 3-21-11

For the week of 3-21-11:
Hm- having the entire weekend off !!
Hm- having a rainy day off where we did nothing.
5. netflix on my phone - I've had this app for awhile but recently watched a decent special about the history of wrestlemania that I enjoyed .
4. Dinner at red robins with Melly- had a nice dinner with my favorite person and, after, we went to walmart.
3. Diary of a wimpy kid 2: Rodrick Rules - Mel and I loved the first wimpy kid movie that we went to check out the sequel with my mom this weekend. And while not as great as the first one it was still really funny. 7.5/10.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things Week ... 3-7-11
Top 5:
For the week of 3-7-11
5. In-n-Out burgers- I hadnt had the always tasty burgers of in-n-out in some time and it was great. Fries animal style.
4. finding diet big red @ walmart- my love of the soda big red goes back years. Whenever someone would visit Texas they would bring some for us. In the past few years I've seen it more in the bay area. It's harder to find the diet version but I wad lucky enough to get some.
3. borders going out of business sale- went to a random borders and got done cool stuff at a decent discount. The 75% off all holiday items was ESP cool as I got several Christmas CDs that I'm looking forward to hearing.
2. "Nowhere Boy"- this movie, about the life of young John Lennon ( played by kick ass' Aaron Johnson) was really good. An interesting film that held my attention from start to finish.
1. The 7 seas soup I had on Sunday whir visiting my uncle Bobby - shrimp ! Catfish! Scallops ! Crab ! Mussels ! Other sea food I'm forgetting !! All in one friggin delicious soup !! I love soup and I love seafood . And the combo was fastastic !!!!!!

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week 2-28-11
Top 5:
For the week of 2-28-11:
5. Smokin oakies on friday night- we went to dinner at smokin oakies on Friday and, in addition to some tasty food, there was live music that was pretty good.
4. "Flipped"- this was a Mel pick brought to you by netflix. She had read the book and thought the movie would be fun. I didn't expect much and I ended up thinking it wad great !! A simple story of boy-meets-girl with no stars in it. And I thought it was great. 7.5/10.
3. Boozing at spoontonic on sat night with Melly , kc, Emilio ( a cameo by Liz leal ) and Zac !! - awesome people, great music and late night drunken video games with the boys !!! Fun fun night !
2. The food at Melanie's aunt Cheryl's house on Monday - fantastic food from some of my favorite chefs. I always leave a family party stuffed and dreaming of leftovers. For days.
1. hamburger steak from the chick-n-coop - a taste of the neighborhood ( the excelsior district, in case you were wondering. And if you live there you know what I'm talking about !!), a taste of nostalga. I remember being in the 6th grade and my uncle picking me up from school and we would walk to get dinner for my mom and us at the chick-n-coop. And while the sandwiches and rice pudding is great it's the hamburger steak ( with mashers and gravy ) that was always my favorite. And it's still great as ever.
So, that's it...

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 2-14-11
Top 5:
For the week of 2-14-11:
5. "Cool As Ice"- one of the most awful-some movies ive EVER seen. Between this movie and "ice ice baby", Vanilla Ice, your place in history is cemented sir !!
4. Gnomeo & Juliet- what a nice surprise this was. I went into this movie not expecting much and ended up ( with Mel & Ashley ) laughing louder than the kids in the theatre. A fun time on such a rainy day. 7.5/10
3. Wwe elimination chamber 2011- Ricky & I went to this wrestling ppv and it was real fun. It had been awhile since we'd seen wrestling live and it didnt let us down.
2. After a long work day Tuesday, coming home to my Melly , going to eat pizza @ Rocco's and watching the giants world series DVD.... And, best of all , finding something in the house I thought we'd lost forever.
1. valentines day with my Melly - had a great valentines day with my favorite person. Spent the day in the city and rode a cable car to the wharf. It was raining hard so we ducked into the buena vista for an Irish coffee. Rode the cable car back and went into stores ( Disney store, rasputins where I found a DVD I've been looking for a LONG time... Space jam !!!) ate lunch downtown ( $1 oysters !! ) and came home to listen to the rain and read. A super fun day !!

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 2-7-11

For the week of 2-7-11:
5. Togos- I had my doubts about how tasty the sandwiches would be here but, going by Melly's praise, we went and I had a pastrami and cheese. And it... Was.... Awesome !!
4. Harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban - still a great read... I read a little bit each night, saving those last great chapters... And I'm now reading book 4 !!
3. NBA Jam - I remember playing this game as a kid and the remake whilenot AS awesome was still pretty good. I played with Melly and, I can admit, she was better than me...
2. The vietnameise food we had on locust st in walnut creek- Melly saw this place while we were driving down the street and, day before valentines day, we decided to try it. F'n awesome 1. funland not-at-the beach- last week while reading the Sunday pink in the sf chronicle I read an article about pinball machines and about this place. As a preValentines day thing, mel and I decided to check it out... The tickets were a bit overpriced but they had all the free pinball you could play. It was a fun day.

5. Watching the superbowl with my mom & Mel
4. Eating at moonstar with Melanie & my mom - it was all the seafood I could handle....and I was wicked full after.
3. learning chess from Melly - for some reason I got it in my head I wanted to learn chess... Melly hot ms a little chess set for Xmas and, this week, started the process if teaching me how to play. I'm a slow learner...haha.
2. Getting to visit uncle Bobby
1. perfect day off ( trophy, sausage/biscuits for Bruckie, comics,walmart, borders, The Habit, MJ This is it, Harry potter+ Melly) - days off do not get much better than that one !!

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week... 1-24-11
Top 5:
For the week of 1-24-11
5. Ramona & Beezus- a movie I Netflixed for Melly. And it was one I enjoyed WAAAY more than I expected I would. Funny and fun. 7/10.
4. Fantastic Four # 587- I will admit, aside from liking the character The Thing, to not being a big fan ( check it out every now and again) of the F. F.
I bought this issue to read about which one of the team dies. In the end, the last few panels, showing the death of Johnny Storm, The Human Torch, were great. I might check out the next issue to see what happens
3. Watching a few episodes of the I love Lucy marathon Mel & Ashley were enjoying - I've always liked I Love Lucy and these episodes ( Lucy in Europe were real funny).
2. The dinner Melanie made on Saturday night- I've never had sausage casserole but it was real good, sitting on a bed of mashed potatoes . And the carrott cake was one of the real most tasty things I've had in some time.

5. TRON: evolution- watching this movie on bootleg with Ashley. It was a fun movie. And I never thought I'd say this but I enjoyed the daft punk soundtrack.

2. Fried stuffed mushrooms- this week we went to dinner at a Korean BBQ place and tried this appetizer. Holy shit was it good. I talked about it for days.
1. The Home made fried Oreos Melly & Ashley made - it was like the county fair come to our apartment. And, really, how could something so tasty be bad for you?

Toms Top 5 Awesome Things This Week...1-10-11
Top 5 : 1-10-11
For the week of 1-10-11
5. Easy A- a fun movie that surprised me by how much I enjoyed it.
4. Big mouth burger- a burger place in San Bruno that never let's me down
3. Watching Golden girl reruns with Mel after not seeing any for months
2. Cee lo green the love machine - a throwback to the 70's soul sound. A good cd that u can see myself playing for some time.
1. The Mac cheese ground beef thing Mel made Friday night- she claimed it wasn't her best but I think she was being modest. A tasty dinner that also made fantastic tasting leftovers the next day.
So that's it.

Tom's Top 5 Awesome Things This Week 1-3-11

For the week of 1-3-11
This week has been a rough one. It seems the new year has started on a sour note. And while this weeks Top 5 wasn't hard to find, in this week we seemed to have more bad news than good...
( one cool thing though , honorable mention of sorts, this Top 5 was written and posted entirely on my iPhone )
5. Catching up on all my reading while Mel and Ashley watched a pretty little liars marathon
4. Tangled - we went to see this movie with no expectations and found it to be a fun, funny movie. And, personally, I'm glad we didn't waste the extra money and see it 3D. It didn't need it. 6.5/10
3. The sorcerers apprentence - I didnt expect much from this nicolas cage movie but ended up enjoying it way more than I thought I would. A fun Disney movie that kept me smiling. 7/10.
2. Watching/playing with/ most of all, seeing how happy puppy Ginny makes Mel .
1. One day, early this week, Mel was getting ready and she put on a scarf... She always looks cute in a scarf... She asked me "how do I look?" and I said "great". I've long known she is the most beautiful girl in the world and seeing her leave to start her day, looking so pretty, made me smile and realize how lucky I am to have her

4. The habit- this week we tried a new burger place called The Habit... Cheap burgers and tasty too... Kick ass !!
3. Sat night ( dinner @ hubcaps + watching The long long trailer)
2. Wolverine goes to hell- I've been reading this story for a few months now, it has great art and a good story line. Check it out if your a fan of all things Logan
1. Best new years eve ever !! - I wasn't feeling good so mel and I stayed home. We watched a special about Michael Jackson, relaxed and at midnight I got a kiss. It was perfect. Although I've had some crazy new years eves in the past THIS one was my best ever.
